Kankeshwar Trek

This must be after ages. I think the last time I had been on something like a trek was during my college times. We used to have these industrial visits and alongside some rappelling, rock-climbing, moonlight walks happening. Thanks to my aunt's constant phone calls I got the push to go for this moonlight trek at Kankeshwar (it's around Alibaug if I don't get too specific). Anyway, this was pretty neat and we walked about 10 km altogether (About 6 km uphill + downhill - I'm being a bit conservative with this estimate as it seemed really longer with our backpack full of food, water, bedsheet, blanket, etc.) This was my first time with this group of trekkers- called 'Adventurers and Explorers' which has treks almost every month. I think I will join them more often. :-). We were about 50 of us climbing in the night right upto the Kankeshwar hilltop with torches, backpacks and the spirit to conquer the Himalayas (not really :D). It got really hot and the moon was hidden behind the clouds. I guess that didn't matter much as we reached a point about 2/3rd way where we got an amazing view and a breath of fresh breeze. I don't want to sound like I do this too often but it was most certainly a great experience amidst nature. Not many pics taken, although I realized about 2-3 yrs ago that memories last forever in your mind - so it's best to enjoy the moment unless you're a pro and need to capture those landscapes with your SLR. May be someday I will be doing that. For now, just some random snaps :D
