Facebook and Mark Zuckerburg
With the responsibility of running one of the world's largest social
networking websites...rather one of the largest websites, Mark appears
to be a brat who needs adult supervision:
http://www.usatoday.com/tech/news/2011-05-06-google_n.htm If you are following Facebook in the media - on one hand you will hear
about the company's maturity and evolution as a 'responsible' American
enterprise - with more emphasis on privacy and security features on
the social network; spending more money lobbying with the government;
while on the other hand Facebook acts like a brat embarassing itself
with such PR campaigns. Is Mark responsible directly for this cheap
attempt with PR or is it that the people he hires are dumb enough to
take such a drastic step against another internet giant? (also makes
me wonder how insecure it feels about losing its audience to Google
even when Google hasn't ever real got this social network thing
right!) Whatever the case may be, I would be concerned if I had a
stake in the social network. In the end, Mark needs to give answers. In fact, It would be
interesting to see how Facebook gets out of this one and it would
surely make a compelling PR case study in itself!
